Many years ago now my parents had given me the vinyl record of these favorites of my favorites Jeanette Macdonald and Nelson Eddy. When this was available on CD I quickly replaced the record with it. Since my parents are now deceased, I will keep the record for sentimental reasons, but play the CD again and again/5(16).

"Indian Love Call" (first published as "The Call") is a popular song from Rose-Marie, a operetta-style Broadway musical with music by Rudolf Friml and Herbert Stothart, and book and lyrics by Otto Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein II. Originally written for Mary Ellis, the song achieved continued popularity under other artists and has been called Friml's best remembered work.

Singer-actress Jeanette MacDonald is a perfect example of what, decades after her death, became known as a "classical crossover" artist. In her films, radio, television appearances, concerts, and recordings, she sang opera, operetta, art songs, and show tunes, often with an eye toward popularizing classical music for the masses. This was a delicate balancing act that worked for most of her.

Indian Love Call Lyrics: When I'm calling you / Will you answer too? / That means I offer my life to you to be my own / If you refuse me I will be blue, waiting all alone / But if when you hear my.
